Exhibition RUHR DING (RUHR THING)

From May 4 until June 30, 2019, Urbane Künste Ruhr (Ruhr Urban Arts) is realizing the new exhibition format Ruhr Ding in four Ruhr area cities. The first edition of the cross-regional and annually recurring program looks into the significance of territorial classifications for the formation of identity. For the Hansa coking plant’s pithead baths, the artist Alexandra Pirici designed a new location-based work, in which live performers interact intermittently with a hologram. With regard to industrial and immaterial forms of work, she questions the body as territory.
