Since September 2002, the Foundation for the Preservation of Industrial Monuments and Historical Culture has been the assignment location for the project "Jugendbauhütte (masons’ lodges for young people) in NRW" or "Voluntary year in the preservation of monuments," which is carried out by the German Foundation for the Preservation of Monuments (Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz and the International Common Youths Service (Internationalen Jugendgemeinschaftsdiensten).
