| The Unser Fritz Colliery Shaft 1 | |
In 1997 the Foundation took over responsibility for the only remaining building on the site of the former Unser Fritz colliery: this Malakow tower is listed as a historical monument. A feasibility study has suggested it to be used as an office building, a seminar tower or a trucker-motel.
The massive four-story brick building is 30 metres high and contains two imposing staircases at its north-west and south-west corners. The facades of the building were conceived in an historicist style.
